Defender brings its high-performance OCTA to Singapore in suitably dark form, alongside a weekend celebrating the brandโs heritage, culture and community
Singapore โ Defender has brought its latest high-performance creation, the new Defender OCTA Black, to Singapore, making its local debut at an exclusive weekend experience at 67 on Scotts.

Dubbed Defender @ 67 on Scotts, the event brought together Defender owners and enthusiasts for a two-level experience that explored everything from the brandโs expedition heritage to its modern interpretation of luxury, craftsmanship and adventure.
And at the centre of it all sat the new OCTA Black.

Black is the new OCTA
The Defender OCTA Black is the latest expression of the high-performance Defender OCTA, combining its extreme on- and off-road capability with an extensive blacked-out treatment.
The result is a considerably darker take on Defender’s performance-focused 4×4, with black detailing giving the OCTA a more distinctive appearance while retaining the all-terrain capability and composure that define the model.

The Singapore debut formed the centrepiece of the Defender @ 67 on Scotts experience, which was designed to take guests through the brand’s past, present and future.

From expeditions to contemporary Defender
The experience began with a visual journey through Defender’s history, highlighting landmark expeditions and humanitarian work that helped establish the name’s reputation for exploration and capability.

From there, guests moved into a more pared-back, monochromatic environment where the Defender OCTA Black was unveiled.
The contrast was deliberate, connecting Defender’s history of going places most sensible vehicles would rather avoid with its latest expression of performance and modern luxury.
And while Defender has become increasingly associated with lifestyle and luxury, the brand clearly isn’t keen on forgetting where the whole mud-and-rocks thing came from.
A little culture with your 4×4
The second level of the experience shifted the focus towards culture and community.
A curated library brought together books, literature and objects inspired by travel, exploration and Defender’s history, while the Vinyl Listening Lounge featured a selection of international and local music artistes whose trailblazing spirit reflects Defender’s own approach to pushing boundaries.

It was a rather different way of experiencing the brand โ less about horsepower and more about the people, stories and ideas surrounding it.
For invited guests, the weekend culminated in an exclusive chef’s table dinner created by Chef Ivan Brehm, chef-owner of Michelin-starred Nouri and multidisciplinary space Appetite in Singapore.
The dining experience was paired with bespoke cocktails by 67 on Scotts, offering Defender’s interpretation of what it calls tough luxury.

More than just the car
For Defender, the event was also about strengthening its relationship with the community around the brand.
โDefender is defined not only by its capability, but by the people and experiences that surround it,โ said Garth Turnbull, Managing Director, Asia Pacific.

โDefender @ 67 on Scotts brings our community together in a way that reflects the spirit of the brand โ bold, adventurous and unmistakably Defender.โ
The event offered Singapore’s Defender community a different way to engage with the marque, moving beyond the traditional showroom experience and into food, music, literature, design and culture.

And with the Defender OCTA Black taking centre stage, it also provided a suitably dramatic introduction to the latest member of the Defender family.
Black, capable and slightly excessive… Sounds about right for a Defender OCTA.
