Hyundaiโs new electric SUV arrives with a 27-inch 4K display, up to 1,540 litres of cargo space and nine airbags
Singapore โ Hyundai has unveiled its all-new ELEXIO in Singapore, bringing another electric SUV into an increasingly crowded local market.
But rather than trying to win the specification-sheet arms race with ludicrous performance figures, Hyundai says the ELEXIO is about something slightly more civilised: making the daily commute a little less stressful.

Called โBeyond Innovationโ, Hyundaiโs philosophy for the ELEXIO puts comfort, safety and human-centred technology ahead of simply throwing more gadgets at the driver.
Although, to be fair, there are still quite a few gadgets.
A rather large screen
The ELEXIO gets a minimalist cabin dominated by a rather enormous 27-inch 4K panoramic โConnect-Cโ display.

It stretches across the dashboard and acts as the main interface for the car, with an integrated head-up display providing additional information in the driver’s line of sight.
Hyundai has also gone for a softer, more lounge-like approach to the cabin. The interior uses stitched mock-suede, fabric textiles and perforated leather surfaces, while the usual collection of cold, hard plastics has been kept to a minimum.

There is also a panoramic glass roof, ventilated and heated front seats with multi-way power adjustment, hidden storage compartments and a hands-free Smart Power Tailgate.
So yes, the ELEXIO is taking the whole โmobile living roomโ thing rather seriously.

For Singaporean families, the more useful figure might be the boot. There is 506 litres of luggage space with the rear seats up, increasing to 1,540 litres with them folded.

Pixelated headlights and plum blossoms
Outside, the ELEXIO follows the current electric-car design playbook with a slippery nose, clean surfaces and a slab-sided profile designed to improve aerodynamic efficiency.

Its most distinctive feature is probably the pair of Cosmic Cube pixel LED headlights, which give the SUV a distinctly digital-looking face.
At the rear, full-width LED combination lamps continue the pixel-inspired theme, while flush-fitting power door handles keep the sides looking suitably clean.

Hyundai calls their design โplum blossomโ, which is certainly a more poetic way of describing an aerodynamic wheel than simply calling it a wheel with lots of holes in it. All of this sits on 20-inch alloys.

Two battery options
The Singapore-specification ELEXIO will be offered with two battery capacities: a 64.2kWh Standard Range battery and an 88.1kWh Long Range unit.

While both versions use a front-wheel-drive layout, the Standard Range takes 10.7 seconds to reach 100km/h, while the Long Range takes 12.1 seconds. Hyundai quotes a top speed of 185km/h for the Standard Range; the supplied specification sheet does not state a corresponding figure for the Long Range.

Both versions use a 400V electrical architecture and can charge from 10 to 80 per cent using a 350kW charger in 36 minutes for the Standard Range and 38 minutes for the Long Range, under optimal conditions.
There is also Vehicle-to-Load, or V2L, functionality, allowing the ELEXIO to power external electrical devices.

Nine airbags, because seven apparently wasn’t enough
Safety is another area where Hyundai is making a point.
The ELEXIO has achieved a five-star ANCAP safety rating and comes with nine airbags.
That is two more than the conventional seven-airbag setup, with Hyundai positioning the additional protection as part of its focus on passenger safety.
The SUV also comes with Hyundai SmartSense driver-assistance systems, with the various electronic safety features designed to work in the background rather than constantly demanding attention from the driver.
Coming to The Car Expo
The ELEXIO measures 4,615mm long, 1,875mm wide and 1,675mm tall, with a 2,750mm wheelbase.
Singapore customers will get their first opportunity to see the new electric SUV at The Car Expo, which takes place at Singapore Expo Halls 4 and 5 on 24 and 25 October 2026.
Hyundai has not announced local pricing in the supplied pre-homologation release, so that particular bit of information will have to wait.
The ELEXIO will be distributed locally by Komoco Motors, which is celebrating 40 years as Hyundai’s exclusive distributor in Singapore this year.

For a market increasingly filled with electric SUVs, Hyundai’s latest entrant is taking a slightly different route. There is plenty of technology, certainly, but the ELEXIO appears more interested in making the technology disappear into the background.
Well, apart from that enormous 27-inch screen.
