The DENZA B5 gets a more luxurious cabin, ventilated rear seats and clever hydraulic suspension with the new Zenith variant
The DENZA B5 was already a rather well-equipped proposition. Now, Singapore buyers can have an even more pampered version with the introduction of the new B5 Zenith.
Building on the existing B5 Orion, the Zenith adds NAPPA leather upholstery, ventilated front and rear seats, and DENZA’s DiSus-P Intelligent Hydraulic Body Control System.
The new Zenith retains the B5’s existing suite of creature comforts, including front-seat massage functions, an integrated refrigerator and a Devialet sound system. There’s also generous boot space, making it just as suited to the school run as it is to a weekend away.
And because this is Singapore, rear-seat ventilation is particularly welcome. The second-row passengers get ventilated seats too, helping keep things a little less sweaty when the weather decides to behave like Singapore weather.
Up front, dual 50W wireless charging pads allow the driver and passenger to charge compatible smartphones without the usual nest of cables.
Getting clever underneath
The biggest technical change is the addition of DENZA’s DiSus-P Intelligent Hydraulic Body Control System.
The system can adjust suspension damping and stiffness according to road conditions and driving inputs. It is designed to absorb bumps, reduce body roll through corners and give the B5 a more composed ride.
There is also 140mm of total suspension height adjustment. The B5 Zenith can be raised by up to 50mm or lowered by as much as 90mm from its standard ride height.
That should prove useful when the road gets less friendly, while the system can also provide up to 790mm of water-wading depth in the appropriate suspension setting and under the manufacturer’s specified operating conditions.
Same punch as the B5 Orion
Underneath, the Zenith shares its powertrain with the B5 Orion.
The B5 is built around DENZA’s DMO Super Hybrid platform, pairing a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with dual electric motors.
Combined output is rated at 425kW and 760Nm, enough to propel the B5 Zenith from 0–100km/h in 4.8 seconds.
A 31.8kWh Blade Battery provides pure-electric driving capability while retaining the flexibility of a hybrid powertrain. There are also 16 intelligent driving modes, allowing the driver to tailor the vehicle to different road and terrain conditions.
The Zenith gets fixed front brake calipers, while 20-inch wheels wrapped in Pirelli tyres and a fully enclosed spare-wheel cover add a slightly more polished look to the B5’s chunky exterior.
More technology inside
The new variant also gains a digital streaming rear-view mirror, using a camera to provide the rearward view rather than relying solely on the conventional mirror.
There’s also an Ultra-Wideband smartphone key, allowing compatible phones to be used as a digital vehicle key.
So yes, another thing you can now forget to charge.
The luxury extends beyond the car
DENZA is also continuing its Lifestyle Membership Programme for owners.
The DENZA Lifestyle Card offers eligible owners privileges from 88 participating brands across more than 600 lifestyle touchpoints in Singapore. These cover dining, hospitality, travel, retail, beauty and wellness, entertainment, education, pet care and services.
There are also DENZA-exclusive partnerships and privileges aimed at extending the ownership experience beyond the car itself.
Pricing and availability
The new DENZA B5 Zenith is available in with a launch price of S$379,888, inclusive of COE.
The package also includes a 10-year battery warranty and a choice between S$18,000 worth of ownership benefits or an OGAWA Biovis massage chair worth S$18,000.
