BYD’s newest EV packs a 43.2kWh Blade Battery, up to 322km of WLTP range, wrapped in a compact 3.99m footprint
Zouk, Singapore – BYD has added another EV to its Singapore line-up with the launch of the new BYD ATTO 1. There is no such thing as an ATTO 0.5, therefore it is safe to say that this is BYD’s smallest ATTO-badged SUV.

At just 3,990mm long and with a 9.9-metre turning diameter, the ATTO 1 has been designed with city driving and tight parking spaces in mind. Despite its diminutive footprint, BYD says it can accommodate five occupants and offers 308 litres of luggage space.

Power comes from a 65kW permanent magnet synchronous motor producing 175Nm of torque. Feeding it is a 43.2kWh BYD Blade Battery, giving the ATTO 1 a WLTP range of up to 322km.

Charging is handled through both AC and DC connections, with DC fast charging of up to 85kW. The ATTO 1 also gets Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, allowing the battery to power external devices.

Small car, plenty of kit
The compact BYD doesn’t skimp on driver assistance either. Standard safety equipment includes Automatic Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Intelligent Cruise Control, Lane Departure Assist, Lane Keeping Control, Traffic Sign Recognition and driver fatigue and distraction monitoring.

Rear parking sensors and a rear-view camera are also fitted, along with electronic stability control.
Inside, the ATTO 1 gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen paired with a 7-inch digital instrument display. BYD’s DiLink system is supported by wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while over-the-air updates are included to keep the car’s software current.

Other features include keyless entry and start, NFC smartphone key functionality, Bluetooth key access, automatic air-conditioning, intelligent voice control and power-adjustable front seats.

“The launch of the BYD ATTO 1 represents another important step in our mission to make electric mobility accessible to a broader community of drivers,” said James Ng, Managing Director of BYD Singapore and President of BYD Philippines.

According to Ng, the ATTO 1 combines BYD’s Blade Battery technology, driver assistance systems and connectivity in a compact package intended for city living.
The ATTO 1 is available in Sprout Green, Arctic Blue, Cosmos Black and Ski White, with the car now available for viewing and test drives at BYD showrooms across Singapore.
For Singapore motorists looking for a small EV that doesn’t require small-car levels of equipment, the ATTO 1 looks like BYD’s latest attempt to make electric motoring a little easier to swallow. Prices begin at $169,888.
