Toyota says that the 6th generation RAV4 is even more refined. Hybrid drive guarantees fuel-sipping goodness

SINGAPORE, 4 June 2026 — The All-New RAV4 Full Hybrid arrives in Singapore with a sharper design, improved refinement and the debut of Toyota Safety Sense 4.0 — the latest evolution of the brand’s active safety technologies.

Powered by Toyota’s fifth-generation hybrid system, the RAV4 combines a 2.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor to deliver a combined 215hp. The result is a 0–100km/h time of 8.0 seconds, while fuel consumption is rated at 5.1L/100km, equivalent to 19.6km/l.

Importantly, it remains a self-charging full hybrid, allowing drivers to enjoy the benefits of electrification without altering their daily routines or relying on charging infrastructure.

“The All-New RAV4 reflects Toyota’s commitment to providing customers with a choice of mobility solutions that best suit their lifestyles and needs,” said Mr Ng Khee Siong, Managing Director of Borneo Motors Singapore. “As part of our multi-pathway approach, self-charging full hybrid technology provides a practical way to improve fuel efficiency and lower emissions without changing driving habits or relying on charging infrastructure.”

Toyota has also worked to improve the RAV4’s overall refinement. Built on the TNGA-K platform, the SUV benefits from increased body rigidity through reinforced frame joints and suspension mounting points. A high-damping adhesive has also been adopted to reduce vibrations and road noise, contributing to a quieter and more composed driving experience.

Visually, the new RAV4 adopts Toyota’s latest SUV design language. The hammerhead-inspired front fascia, chiselled bodywork and pronounced wheel arches lend it a more purposeful appearance, while 20-inch alloy wheels and full-width rear lighting complete the look.

Inside, the focus remains firmly on usability. A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster is paired with a 10.5-inch multimedia touchscreen supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Toyota’s new straight shift-by-wire gear selector also makes its debut on the RAV4, creating a cleaner centre console layout.

Comfort and convenience have received equal attention. Heated and ventilated front seats, dual wireless charging pads, USB-C ports and dual-zone climate control all feature as standard. Boot space stands at a generous 749 litres, ensuring the RAV4 retains the versatility that has made it a popular choice among families.

The All-New RAV4 is also the first Toyota model in Singapore to feature Toyota Safety Sense 4.0. The updated suite incorporates enhanced camera and radar systems capable of detecting hazards earlier and across a wider field of view than before.

Toyota says the system delivers up to 1.7 times greater detection distance and a 1.15 times wider horizontal viewing angle compared to the previous generation. Improvements to vehicle recognition and intersection detection further broaden its capabilities in real-world driving scenarios.

In an era where SUVs increasingly strive to be everything at once, the RAV4 continues to excel by focusing on what matters most. It remains practical, efficient and reassuringly easy to live with — qualities that have defined the model for decades.
