Will Alfa Romeo’s first electric vehicle make it into the hearts of the local Alfisti? We don’t know

Singapore – Alfa Romeo’s new dealership, Red Rock & Rosso Motor unveiled the new Alfa Romeo Junior, the Italian brand’s first EV. The SUV not only marks Alfa Romeo’s first step into full electrification, but also their return to the compact segment.

Developed at the Alfa Romeo Centro Stile in Turin, the Junior reimagines the brand’s iconic styling cues through sculpted surfaces. The most striking being the signature “trilobo” motif, formed by the grille and lower air intakes, and also the ‘coda tronca’ – the latter which pays homage to cars of the past, like the Giulia TZ.

“The arrival of the Alfa Romeo Junior marks an exciting new chapter for us in Singapore. With its bold design and fully electric performance, it represents the evolution of Alfa Romeo in a way that is both progressive and true to its heritage. At Red Rock & Rosso Motor, we are proud to introduce this model through a space that allows customers to experience the brand in a more personal and immersive way” shares from William Tan, General Manager of Red Rock & Rosso Motor.

“Alfa Romeo has always been defined by a dynamic and emotional connection between driver and machine. With the unveiling of this new Alfa Romeo Experience Centre, we are creating a special place for the Alfisti community where bespoke relationships and brand immersion take center stage. Additionally, the debut of the Alfa Junior Elettrica is a landmark moment, proving that sustainability and the thrill of the drive can coexist perfectly. We are proud to partner with Red Rock & Rosso Motor to bring this uniquely Italian soul to the heart of Singapore,” said Isaac Yeo, Managing Director of Stellantis ASEAN.

The driver focused cabin features premium materials, including Icona seats upholstered in durable RipStop fabric, a high-strength weave designed for resilience and breathability. The 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster is set in Alfa Romeo’s signature “cannocchiale” design, intended for a focused driver connection.

The Junior’s 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen features customisable widgets, and boasts wireless connectivity for both Apple and Android devices. For a greater degree of customisation, the interior features ambient lighting with eight colours.

As for driving dynamics, the Alfa Romeo Junior’s handling has been tweaked by the same team behind the mental Giulia GTA. Contributing to quicker response, the steering has been set with a quick 15.8:1 ratio.

At launch, the Alfa Romeo Junior is available with one Category A COE-friendly front-driven single motor powertrain, which is good for 100 kW (134 hp) and 260Nm. This gets the Junior to 100km/h in a leisurely 9.0 seconds. The Junior has a claimed WLTP range of 410km, which is rather low by today’s standards.

As for charging, the Junior supports up to 100kW DC, which adds approximately 100km of range per 10 minutes of charge.

As for safety, the Alfa Romeo Junior is equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), which include Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Centering, Traffic Jam Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Automatic Emergency Braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection. It also has 360 degree park sensors and a 180 degree rear camera with drone view aid in manoeuvring in tight spaces.
