Performance Motors Limited (PML) has enhanced its OneGo by Sime Motors app with integrated EV charging and payment capabilities, allowing users to find, start and pay for Charge+ charging sessions directly through the app

Singapore EV owners have one less app to worry about. Performance Motors Limited (PML), the authorised BMW dealer in Singapore, has become the first automotive dealership here to integrate third-party EV charging and payment services into its own customer platform.

The new functionality is now available through the OneGo by Sime Motors app, with Charge+ as PML’s first charging integration partner.

Charge+ operates more than 6,000 charging points across Southeast Asia. Through OneGo, EV drivers can locate Charge+ stations in Singapore and Malaysia, start and stop charging sessions, monitor charging progress in real time and pay for their charging directly through the app.

One app, one payment

PML says the integration is intended to address one of the more tedious aspects of EV ownership: having to juggle multiple charging apps, accounts and payment methods across different networks.

OneGo users can charge their cars without purchasing or topping up pre-stored charging credits. Instead, charging sessions are billed directly to the credit card linked to their OneGo account. Charging activity and transaction records can also be viewed and downloaded from the app.

To start a charging session, users can either select a charging point within OneGo or scan the QR code at a Charge+ station. Charging fees are displayed in the app and charged at prevailing Charge+ rates.

The feature isn’t limited to BMW owners either. Existing Sime Motors Singapore new and pre-owned car customers with their vehicle information registered in OneGo can access the charging function immediately. Other EV owners can also create a free OneGo account and register their vehicle through Singpass or by submitting their vehicle details through the app.

Handy for trips to Malaysia

For Singapore EV owners who regularly head north, the integration also covers Charge+ stations in Malaysia.

Users can locate Charge+ chargers, initiate charging sessions and pay through OneGo while travelling there — potentially making the Singapore-to-Malaysia EV road trip a little less dependent on remembering which charging app does what.

Lawrence Tan, Managing Director of PML and Sime Motors Singapore, said the enhancement is part of PML’s efforts to simplify EV ownership, particularly as EV adoption grows and customers expect charging to be as seamless as other aspects of owning a car.

OneGo already handles several other ownership-related functions, including service appointment bookings, service status tracking, access to PML’s 24-hour Contactless Key Drop lockers, PML$ rewards and RSVPs for customer events.

PML says it will continue exploring additional charging-related services and partnerships.
