Suzuki’s first-ever electric SUV arrives with up to 345km of range, practical family-friendly packaging and a refreshing focus on usability

Singapore – Suzuki has finally entered the electric era in Singapore with the launch of the all-new Suzuki e VITARA, the Japanese marque’s first fully electric passenger vehicle and a significant milestone for distributor Champion Motors.

For a brand that has built its reputation on sensible, dependable motoring, the move towards electrification feels less like a dramatic reinvention and more like the natural next step. The e VITARA takes the familiar virtues that have made Suzuki popular with urban drivers — practicality, simplicity and efficiency — and wraps them in an all-electric package.

Built on Suzuki’s dedicated HEARTECT-e platform, the e VITARA has been engineered from the outset as a battery electric vehicle rather than adapted from an existing combustion-powered model. The result is a compact SUV that promises to be equally at home navigating Orchard Road traffic as it is squeezing into tight multi-storey car parks.

Power comes from a 49kWh lithium-ion battery paired with a 106kW electric motor, producing 193Nm of instant torque. Suzuki quotes a WLTP range of up to 345km, which should comfortably cover the weekly commuting needs of most Singapore motorists.

At 4,275mm long with a generous 2,700mm wheelbase, the e VITARA strikes a balance between compact dimensions and cabin space. A tight 5.2-metre turning radius further enhances its urban credentials.

Designed For Real Drivers

One aspect that immediately stands out is Suzuki’s refusal to follow the industry’s obsession with burying every function inside a touchscreen.

While the e VITARA features a 10-inch digital instrument display and a 10-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, essential functions such as climate control remain accessible via physical buttons and switches. It is a refreshingly sensible approach that should appeal to drivers who prefer keeping their eyes on the road rather than navigating endless menus.

The cabin is equally practical, offering automatic climate control, a 360-degree camera system, multiple USB-A and USB-C ports, and versatile 40:20:40 split-fold rear seats.

Efficiency Meets Safety

Efficiency has clearly been a key focus. With an energy consumption figure of 14.8kWh/100km, the e VITARA qualifies for Singapore’s VES Band A1, helping buyers maximise available incentives.

The SUV also comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of driver assistance technologies, including Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning and Suzuki’s Dual Sensor Brake Support system. Six airbags and a high-rigidity structure further reinforce its safety credentials.

A New Chapter For Suzuki

The VITARA nameplate has been around since 1988, earning a reputation for versatility and no-nonsense capability. The arrival of the e VITARA signals the next chapter of that story, bringing Suzuki’s compact SUV heritage into an increasingly electrified future.

“The e VITARA represents a definitive new chapter for Suzuki in Singapore,” said Ng Khee Siong, Managing Director of Champion Motors Singapore. “It delivers the reliability, practicality, and ease of use that our drivers have trusted for decades, paired with a highly efficient electric powertrain. We believe electrification should simplify daily driving, not complicate it. The e VITARA allows Singaporeans to transition to electric mobility seamlessly, without compromising on functional space or driving confidence.”

For Singapore buyers looking for a straightforward electric SUV that prioritises practicality over gimmicks. With a lunch price of S$169,888, the e VITARA is one of the more affordable new arrivals of 2026.
