Proton’s new RWD EV combines smart technology, generous practicality and everyday usability at the price of S$158,888
Singapore โ Proton has officially launched the new e.MAS 5 in Singapore, bringing a compact electric SUV that promises to make daily city driving easier without compromising on technology, practicality or comfort.

The e.MAS 5 is the second Proton offering to be distributed by the VINCAR Group. Designed with urban motorists in mind, the e.MAS 5 blends compact exterior dimensions with a surprisingly spacious cabin, backed by an efficient electric drivetrain and an impressive suite of technology and safety features.
Built around everyday usability
“The e.MAS 5 is a car that has already proven itself across some of the world’s most competitive EV markets,” said Ernest Tan, Deputy CEO of VINCAR Group. “We are confident Singapore drivers will appreciate its blend of technology, practicality and value.”

The e.MAS 5 is underpinned by what Proton calls its VOLTS philosophy โ Versatile Technology, Outstanding Design, Luxurious Space, Top-tier Safety and Superior Drivability โ all of which aim to make the SUV an easy companion for everyday life.

Power comes from a CATL lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, with the Singapore-bound Premium variant equipped with a 40.16kWh pack delivering up to 325km of WLTP driving range. DC fast charging allows the battery to charge from 30 to 80 percent in just 21 minutes, while an 11kW onboard charger helps speed up home or workplace charging.
Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality also allows the battery to power external electrical devices, adding another layer of practicality.

Inside, a 14.6-inch Full HD touchscreen running Proton’s ATLAS Auto operating system (which is different from the e.MAS 7). Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, online navigation, an integrated charging map, dual-zone voice commands and app-based remote vehicle controls all come as part of the package.

Small footprint, generous interior
Although measuring just 4,135mm long, the e.MAS 5 makes clever use of its footprint.
There are 32 storage compartments throughout the cabin, alongside a 70-litre front boot, 375-litre rear luggage compartment, under-seat storage and additional space beneath the centre console. Rear passengers also benefit from dedicated air-conditioning vents and a folding centre armrest.

The exterior adopts clean, modern styling with aerodynamic alloy wheels, semi-concealed door handles and LED lighting, while Premium variants receive additional touches including a dual-tone roof option and crystal-style gear selector.
Five exterior colours will be available, paired with either Alabaster White or Flint Grey cabin finishes depending on specification.

Rear-wheel drive sets it apart
One of the e.MAS 5’s biggest talking points is its rear-wheel drive layout, something rarely seen in this segment.
Combined with a multi-link independent rear suspension, the electric SUV aims to deliver a more composed and engaging driving experience than many of its front-driven rivals.
The electric motor produces 114hp (85kW) and 150Nm, allowing the e.MAS 5 to accelerate from 0-50km/h in 3.9 seconds – which is a crucial window of performance. A tight 4.95-metre turning radius also makes navigating Singapore’s narrow streets and multi-storey car parks considerably easier.
Safety remains a key priority
Proton has equipped the e.MAS 5 with a comprehensive suite of driver assistance technologies as standard.
These include Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, Blind Spot Detection, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Change Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Rear Collision Warning, Door Opening Warning and a 360-degree camera with 3D view.
Six airbags are also fitted as standard across the range.

Available now in Singapore
The Proton e.MAS 5 will be offered exclusively in Premium specification for Singapore, at a price of S$158,888* complete with intelligent keyless entry, regenerative braking, Auto Hold, Hill Hold Assist, Hill Descent Control, tyre pressure monitoring and a full complement of convenience features.
According to VINCAR Group, the e.MAS 5 has been developed to appeal to motorists looking to make the switch to electric mobility without sacrificing practicality or value.
Interested buyers can view the vehicle at Proton e.MAS Singapore’s showroom at 24 Leng Kee Road, with registrations of interest now open ahead of customer deliveries.
