The all-new Audi A6 range is now available with two petrol and two electric powertrains

Audi Singapore announced the launch of the all-new Audi A6 and the electric Audi A6 e-tron. Audi’s new Executive range is available with two petrol powertrains, and two electric variants.

“The arrival of the Audi A6 and A6 e-tron in Singapore reflects our ongoing commitment to deliver efficient, well-designed cars that will appeal to loyal Audi drivers and excite more drivers seeking new standards for clean, comfortable, and connected drives,” said Martin Bayer, Managing Director of Audi Singapore at the launch. “This has been one of our most exciting years yet, with the introduction of numerous new models that underscore our dedication to innovation and choice. These launches highlight the strength of the Audi brand and reinforce our influence in Singapore’s premium mobility landscape.”

Audi A6 Sedan

Audi’s second car available in Singapore, built upon the PPC (Premium Platform Combustion) architecture – the first being the Audi A5 Sedan. The new A6 is designed with optimum aerodynamics in-mind, boasting a slippery-low drag coefficient of 0.23.

Much of this is due to the new A6 seeing greater collaboration between the designers and aerodynamics experts. The Executive Sedan’s Singleframe grille, extends to the lower edge of the bumper contributing to the car’s superb airflow. The front spoiler, incorporated with the front bumper is designed to reduce front-axle lift for improved driver confidence, and also ensures better underbody airflow.

The new A6 also brings more on-the-road refinement to its occupants. The work on the car’s  aerodynamics plays into the reduction of wind noise. Acoustic glazing, and overall sound insulation has also been improved by up to 30-percent. Noise absorption also goes into the tyres where foam rings within, reduce air vibrations. Audi has also taken pains to reduce airflow losses by up to 70-percent between the front bumper and cooling unit, via an optimised seal. The overall effect is a more tranquil environment for its occupants. The cabin, designed like a business lounge, also benefits from four-zone deluxe automatic air-conditioning, while audio is via a 685 watt, 16 speaker Bang & Olufsen 3D Premium sound system.

On the inside, Audi has ditched the upper and lower screen setup, in-favour of the new MMI touch response system we first sampled in the new A5. The higher-powered S line variant also receives an MMI front passenger display as standard. Good news for the driver, as both variants are equipped with a head-up display. Audi has also made the project area larger by 85-percent.

With no squeak of an Avant model just yet, the new Audi A6 is available with just one body style, powered by two engine options.

The A6 Sedan advanced TFSI and A6 Sedan edition 1 TFSI, are powered by the groups proven 2.0 litre EA888, which produces 204hp and 340Nm. Drive is via a 7-speed dual-clutch S tronic transmission to the front wheels.

The A6 Sedan S Line TFSI quattro, on the other hand receives a 3.0 litre EA839 evo V6 (an updated version of the one found in the Q7), paired with MHEV tech. It puts out 367hp and 550Nm. Drive is via a 7-speed dual-clutch S tronic transmission with AWD.

Prices:
Audi A6 Sedan advanced TFSI 150kW – $367,999
Audi A6 Sedan edition 1 TFSI 150kW – $387,999
Audi A6 Sedan S line TFSI quattro 270kW mild-hybrid – $423,999

Audi A6 e-tron

The new Audi A6 e-tron is the next car after the Audi Q6, built upon the brand’s Premium Platform Electric (PPE). The Executive fastback is the first model with a flat floor concept, in order to optimise internal space.

Where electrification and aerodynamics often go hand-in-hand, the Executive fastback, with its Sportback bodystyle, achieves a drag coefficient of just 0.21 – making it the most aerodynamic of all time. Apart from body design optimisations, the A6 Sportback e-tron is offered with 20 Audi Sport wheels, while the higher-powered S6 Sportback receives 21-inch aero wheels – designed for greater driving efficiency. The wheels are arranged front and rear, staggered for improved handling.

Audi’s new Executive EV’s ultra-slim design of the daytime running lights and the wide grille, gives it a flat and wide appearance. The inverted Singleframe grille, with a black mask differentiates the A6 e-tron from its ICE sibling. If you follow Audi’s journey with its lighting tech, you’d know that the A6 e-tron will not disappoint. At the rear, the Executive EV is fitted with second generation digital OLED lights, featuring an active digital light signature – a world first. Drivers can customise their appearance to suit their personal taste. Audi also says that the new lighting tech significantly improves road safety, due to its communication light, located within the digital OLED rear lights.

On the inside, the A6 e-tron three-dimensional, high-contrast interior, with the intent of placing elements in the foreground or background, to create a spatial architecture with aesthetics and ergonomics tailored to the car’s occupants. The so-called “Softwrap” extends across the dashboard and onto the doors, helping to create a sense of space. In contrast to large comfortable spaces, operating areas of the cabin are in high-quality, high-gloss black, intended for clarity in interacting with the car.

Like in its ICE sibling, the MMI panoramic display boasts OLED technology. A passenger side MMI screen comes standard across the board. The addition of the passenger side screen allows passengers to assist with the crucial duties of navigation. The augmented reality HUD is also another element, providing drivers with key information, further aiding turn-by-turn accuracy with the help of virtual image distance creating the impression that items depicted are floating up to 200 meters away.

For a sportier look, the The S6 Sportback e-tron comes fitted with exclusive interior features. These include Audi’s signature red ring around the start/stop button, reserved for higher powered Audi vehicles, seats featuring Audi’s rhombus with ‘S’ lettering, and S-specific displays in the MMI. On the outside, the S6 e-tron Sportback can be identified with brake callipers with S lettering, matt silver chrome wing mirror housings, and aluminium inlays within the bumpers. Handling is further sorted out by an Adaptive S air suspension. All this is amplified with the e-tron Sport sound with S tuning.

The Audi A6 Sportback e-tron puts out 282hp (210kW), and 322hp (240kW) with Launch Control on, via a single motor. Peak torque is rated at 435Nm.

The S6 Sportback e-tron on the other hand benefits from a twin-motor setup. Power is rated at 496hp (370kW), and 543hp (405kW) with Launch Control on. Peak torque is rated at 765Nm. Figures which actually top the entry Porsche Taycan.

Audi A6 Sportback advanced e-tron – $370,999
Audi A6 Sportback edition 1 e-tron – $390,999
Audi S6 Sportback e-tron quattro – $457,999
